The department of Otorhino Laryngology specializes the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of disorders related to the ear, nose, throat and structures of the head and neck. It offers comprehensive medical and surgical care by experienced professionals. Emergency services are provided on all days 24×7. The department keep pace with the advances made in the field of ENT and is well equipped to render care applying the latest technologies. the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) works in close tandem with our department lending itself amply to the philosophy of Multidisciplinary approach to solving patient’s problems, related to Audiology, Speech Language and Auditory verbal therapy (AVT). The department runs special clinics in Head and neck, headhache and vertigo.

Highlights of the Department

Cochlear Implant program is one of the flagship program initiated by the department of ENT since 2006. This is the only University teaching hospital that is approved by government of Tamil Nadu for cochlear Implantation under TNCM comprehensive health insurance scheme
Sri Ramachandra voice clinic is another popular patient service provided since 2009. Quality care for patients with voice disorders is rendered in association with Department of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences.
Temporal Bone dissection lab is a state of the art skills lab set up in 2010. It has one master station and 6 learner stations. Training equipment include Carl Zeiss microscopes, marathon drills with tungsten carbide burs, central suction and deep freezer for storing temporal bones.
